Eastman Kodak's Steve Sasson, inventor of the digital camera some 30 years ago, reminded us that “the languish of the world is inventing along with you”. What would digital cameras be without printers?

But Sasson also said: “Inventors splash out most of their time being wrong.” And that gives us a clue into how to be right. Inventors and entrepreneurs will fail if they only converge on where something works without defining its limits – the areas where the “new thing” won’t het up b prepare.

Raymond Kurzweil is an inventor and futurist. He is involved in fields as diverse as optical character perception (OCR), text-to-speech synthesis, speech recognition technology, and electronic keyboard instruments. He commented that the generous brain thinks linearly, but technology expands exponentially. He gave an example of how a computer 30 years ago took up half a scope, but now a teraflop of storage can be bought for $1,000. Over the past 30 years, IT has become 1,000 times more substantial and a billion times cheaper.

Demand to get pictures off of your iPhone or iPod Touch? There’s an app for that.

We recently reported on a survey that showed 69 percent of people still didn’t recognize how to get images off of their camera phones .  While the results were a bit suspect as the survey was conducted by a company that makes tools to get pictures off of phones, it did still seem to be in the bailiwick of possibility.  If you are an iPhone user, things are getting a whole lot easier for you rather quickly.

Kodak has announced a new unfettered application for the iPhone and iPod Touch called the Pic Flick App . The new application will allow you to divide up any images shot with your iPhone camera, or any pictures stored on your iPod Touch, with the Kodak W1020 Wireless Digital Skeleton or you can send them to the Kodak ESP 5250 All-in-One WiFi-enabled Printer for printing.  The printer can produce images at 2×3 to 8.5×11 inches.

3. Smooth of File Transfers : Most of these camcorders are built to be extremely user-friendly. Usually you can just block a USB into your camcorder and your computer, and it can go straight to YouTube. But, be SURE to check that the camcorder can transfer files to your computer. Even if they transfer via USB, a lot of devices go about a find with their own transfer and editing software, and not all of them are compatible with both Macs and PCs.

4. Price : A $200 Mini-HD camcorder is never current to shoot the kind of quality video that a regular flash or hard drive-based HD camcorder would. But for a couple hundred bucks, it’s unequivocally a deal. But you really shouldn’t be spending more than that (not including shipping and sales tax).

5. Reviews : Name-brands aren’t everything. Lose it might be the most well-known right now, but that doesn’t mean the UltraHD is the best for you, nor preferred the most by consumers. You can very likely read reviews of most camcorders here on ZDNet by plugging the name of the product in the search field at the top of the page, restricted “Reviews” in the drop-down menu and click on the magnifying glass icon.
