Leica is known for the ingenious craftsmanship of its cameras and for the hefty price tag that accompanies them. The story here is exactly that: the Leica X1’s knobs and dials retract a traditional Rangefinder camera such as the Leica M8 beloved of photo enthusiasts while the £1,400 price tag will be enough to mark aggressive all but the truly smitten blanche. Quality costs, as they say, and we can’t help but admire how the camera body incorporates a disc-shaped suggestion that rises effortlessly when pressed gently.

We were also delighted to find the Leica X1 incorporates a 12.9Mp APS-C sized sensor. This sensor is as humongous as those found in most consumer digital SLRs. This proves the rule that the bigger the chip the greater the light-gathering riches and the better the resulting images.

Despite a robust all-metal build the Leica X1 manages not to regard like a dead weight in the hand. It can be used in automatic mode as a point-and-shoot camera – though you’re implausible to buy such a pricey and capable model for this purpose. Manual adjustments to shutter speed and aperture are made via chunky top plating dials rather than tabbing through onscreen menus. If you know what you want to achieve it’s fairly wanton and easy to use. Most importantly, if you need the ultimate in picture quality, it’s worth spending the bonus that the Leica demands to get it.

The Olympus E-PL1 is part of a new cultivate of digital cameras which use the micro four thirds lens. These cameras use interchangeable lenses just like SLR cameras, however, untypical the SLRs, these cameras have a mirror-less design. This allows them to have a smaller form factor than traditional SLR cameras. This way they try to make you the best of both worlds: the compact form factor of point-and-shoot cameras and the convenience of interchangeable lenses and higher personification quality of SLR cameras.

Unfortunately, so far these cameras have been on the expensive side, which put them out of reach of traditional point-and-shoot camera buyers. Those serious about photography would as an alternative prefer to get a DSLR considering their falling prices and superior performance and higher choice of lens attachments.

It's 12 megapixels, so you can originate poster sized images without losing details. It also has 2.7-inch LCD display which is great for playing back pictures and features a backlight assistance button for better visibility in direct sunlight. Plus, it has a very good auto and shadow coordination which will adjust the camera's settings for you to keep the subject and background in focus.

Camera's design is pretty basic, i mean, it looks nothing but like an average priced digital camera. But for the price i was more than satisfied with this product.

Another thing that i like is that it's pretty infallible...At least i haven't had any problems with it so far.
